Overview (next event Summer 2024) 

Millíní Music is an intimate 5 Day immersion course in Irish Traditional Music & Culture run by eminent flute-player Conal Ó Grada along with his wife Juliet. It is supported by a cast of the tradition's leading exponents in music, folklore and history. 

An active holiday for those seeking to engage with all aspects of Irish culture, the course is run from Conal & Juliet's own home in the Irish speaking West Cork Gaeltacht of Múscraí, a magical rural setting located at the heart of Gaelic Ireland. 

A fun, diverse and engaging course combines class based learning, active outdoor cultural field trips and social music sessions each night. 

The course is aimed at adult learner musicians interested in exploring Irish Traditional Music, its folklore and its physical cultural setting. Appropriate cultural activities for non playing partners of musical attendees can also be provided. 

The course places great emphasis on Quality and Friendliness. These two principles are our primary consideration in Tutor selection, Course Design and Customer Interaction. We deliver an inspiring and enjoyable cultural experience. 

Attendee's will receive instrument specific tuition as well as general music performance classes. 

Attendee's will enrich their experience of the tradition with beginner level song, dance, bodhrán and Irish language classes. 

Historic walks, archaeological field trips and a dawn climb of the mythologically important mountain 'The Paps of Anú' all serve to encourage attendee's to engage with the traditions physical setting in the landscape. 

You will leave the course with new music skills, new friends and new knowledge of the wider cultural aspects that make Irish Music such a vibrant living tradition. 

Places are limited to 10 people to allow us ensure all individuals needs are met. 

Accommodation & Breakfast (at the Mills Inn), sumptuous home cooked Lunch & Snacks plus local transport to and from all events are included in the package. We can also pick you up (and drop you back) from local airports/ stations.
